New Kate Middleton Doll Unveiled
Finally! Now you can stage your own version of the Royal Wedding — from the comfort of your kitchen. The Franklin Mint has released a Kate Middleton Doll — outfitted in a miniature version of the “iconic” blue Issa dress that she wore at the engagement announcement — which is available for $195.The 16-inch doll comes as the first part of a two-doll set (if this is all too much for you to handle, we recommend closing your eyes and counting to ten before continuing), with the second doll, a “bridal version,” to be released after the wedding actually takes place on April 29.
Franklin Mint says they believe the Middleton doll could be as popular as the Princess Diana collection.
“Our Princess Diana collection is probably the largest audience we’ve ever had,” Franklin Mint chief marketing office Gwynne Gorr told CNN. “The doll collectors for that are embracing Kate Middleton with the same zeal they had for her. But Kate Middleton is a breath of fresh air.”
Now someone just needs to develop an accessories kit for the doll: a mini lifeboat for the doll to christen, mini pancakes for the doll to flip, mini fascinators for the doll to don… and so on.
